Objective Statement for this Website
We pictured one of our favorite driver applicants in our mind when we created this website. We tried to provide answers to his or her questions in an honest, natural-sounding way.
We hope we succeeded, and we hope you'll appreciate the facts we lay out in the open, instead of the usual company double-talk, fog, and evasiveness.
We figure it is best to tell it like it is and let the chips fall where they may, regardless of the consequences. We hope you feel the same way.

The L.J. Kennedy Driver Credo
|
These words are written for the top 20%
of America's tractor-trailer drivers. (Because those are the only
drivers we'll hire).
Look, there is only room for one flatbed
carrier at the top of the mountain. One setter of the standard
for excellence. And that is the spot that L.J. Kennedy occupies.
Let other trucking companies make growth
their measure of success. We don't care, and our drivers don't
care. We're different. Our goal is simple: to be America's most
respected, and admired, flatbed carrier. The carrier with the
most respected and admired drivers.
We're not interested in bigness for the
sake of bigness. Or settling for second-best. Our drivers won't
settle for less than the best. Same as the generations of L.J.
Kennedy drivers that came before them. Excellence is a tradition
at L.J. Kennedy. Always has been. Always will be.
|
|
In every field there are leaders and there
are followers. It takes courage to lead. To go your own way. To
resist the lure to conform. To listen to the voice within you
that tells you to do what is right, not what is easy. To push
yourself to excel, when others have given up and given in.
Our drivers understand our philosophy of
excellence. After all, they maintain the same standard in their
own lives, personally and professionally.
|
|
Today, in cities big and small, over three
hundred and fifty L.J. Kennedy drivers are piloting their tractor-trailers
safely and gracefully on America's highways. They come from the
rocky shores of Maine, and the lush green expanses of Kentucky.
As well as another eighteen states in-between. Most are born and
bred in the USA, but not all were so blessed. Our driver's ranks
have been strengthened by the contributions of drivers born on
four continents, and twenty three different countries. What's
most important to our drivers isn't what makes them different.
It's what makes them the same: the desire to be the best.
|
|
When the time comes for our drivers to
look back on their lives, there will be no regrets about taking
the easy path. Their children will understand and their spouses
will respect them for it. That is one of the rewards of excellence.
Of being the best. Of refusing to compromise. Because needing
to be a part of something great is worth the sacrifice. So our
drivers will never have to look back with regret because they
didn't have the courage to reach for the best that rested within
them.
|
|
We promise you this -- it won't be easy.
Flatbed hauling never has been easy. Never will be. Being the
best never is. But think of the rewards and you'll understand
what it means to be an L.J. Kennedy driver.
It's all about pride. Pride
in a job well done. If you understand what we're talking about,
you need to call us. Get the facts -- they'll lead you to L.J.
Kennedy. If you're good enough, you'll soon know the feeling that
comes from being a valued member of an elite team.
